Bee Sewcial is an international quilting bee - a collaboration of quilters in the United States of America and Canada - which began in 2015.

Our quilting bee works much like an old fashioned quilting bee with a few twists, including that only solid fabrics can be requested.

Each year, each quilter has a month where they set a theme, colour palette, inspirations, and any other rules. Then the group makes improv blocks based on the theme and details provided. The quilter receives the blocks, adds whatever blocks and other additions they want. They then complete the design, piecing, quilting and binding of the quilt. The monthly quilter has creative freedom to make the quilt that they are inspired to make.

The resulting quilts are collaborative compositions of blocks from the same group of quilters and each quilt is a unique creation.
